Studio & Events

Amici Studio is open Wednesday to Friday, 10am-3pm and Saturday 12-4pm, during exhibitions.

Amici Studio is a multi-use creative space in Hastings, East Sussex, hosting collaborative exhibitions, events and learning activity for artists, creative practitioners and local communities.

The programme is built around a series of core exhibitions throughout the year, supported by talks, performances, workshops and artist-led projects. Alongside exhibitions, the Studio hosts In Progress projects, where artists occupy the space for short periods to experiment and develop new work, as well as Salon Dinners, talks and mentoring sessions that bring people together around shared creative interests.

The aims of Amici Studio are threefold:
• To help artists develop sustainable professional practices.

• To create opportunities for collaboration across disciplines, by supporting cultural organisations to work together and grow their audiences.

• To inspire local people of all ages and backgrounds to see contemporary culture as something they can participate in, benefit from and help to shape in their home town.

Artist Professional Development

Support for artists at every stage of their practice.

Developing an artistic practice can be an isolating experience. Whether you’re just beginning to exhibit your work, returning to making after time away, or looking to take your practice to the next stage professionally, having the opportunity to discuss your work with experienced practitioners and peers can make a significant difference.

Artist development sits at the heart of Amici Studio’s wider commitment to supporting artists and strengthening the creative ecology of Hastings and the surrounding area. Alongside our exhibitions and public programme, we offer a series of opportunities designed to help artists develop their practice, build confidence, expand their professional skills and become part of a supportive artistic community.

Our programme currently consists of three complementary offers, each providing a different level of engagement depending on where you are in your practice.

Not sure which option is right for you?
Feel free to get in touch. We’re always happy to advise which part of the programme is likely to be the best fit for your practice and where you are in your career.
